Heart Attack!! - Is it from Cholesterol

Every day we are reminded of the dangers of cholesterol, including a cause of heart disease. Statistics show that heart disease is the number one murderer in Malaysia. The number of deaths from heart disease in the Government hospital in 2005 is 5.247 people. Like me, you believe that the cause of heart disease is cholesterol. We all know that HDL cholesterol is good and the bad LDL cholesterol. We also know that LDL cholesterol accumulates on artery walls and cause constriction of blood vessels. HDL cholesterol came to clean the walls of the arteries of LDL cholesterol. He also told by reducing the ratio of total cholesterol over HDL cholesterol, the lower our risk of heart disease.
Did you know that LDL cholesterol is actually not bad. LDL cholesterol in the original condition is good. Our bodies need to build cell membranes, other cells and various hormones. If LDL cholesterol is not enough food, your body will make cholesterol. The problem is the presence of free radicals, which change shape (oxidants) and LDL cholesterol can be bad. sufficient supply of antioxidants to solve the problem. You do not need an expensive drug to lower LDL cholesterol levels in the body.

You may be surprised if I say or believe that cholesterol causes heart disease is so often portrayed by the media. According to the study, the real cause of heart disease is inflammation of blood vessels. The study published in the New England Journal of Medicine March 23, 2000 issue, shows more than half of people who have heart attacks have normal cholesterol levels. This discovery was a revolution in the treatment and prevention of heart attacks. From work to reduce your cholesterol level should find ways to reduce the causes of inflammation of blood vessels. This method can provide a significant impact in the prevention of heart diseases and recovery.
LDL cholesterol is not the only cause of the problem of inflammation of blood vessels. The main cause is an inflammation of blood vessels called homocysteine and free radicals. Problems arise only when the LDL cholesterol by free radicals dioxide. Without free radicals, LDL cholesterol did not turn bad. Have you heard about homocysteine? Homocysteine occurs when our body digest food, such as free radicals. Problems arise when the amount is excessive homocysteine produced. It is estimated that approximately 15% of all heart attacks and strokes in the world today are caused by high blood levels of homocysteine.
A 1990 study by Professor Dr. Stampfer Harvard School of Public Health found that little improvement in the level of homocysteine may increase the risk of heart disease three times. The New England Journal of Medicine in February 1995 on, Dr. Jacob Selhub, Ph.D., reported that high blood levels of homocysteine increase the risk of narrowing of the two arteries supplying blood to the brain (which can cause strokes). In addition, Dr. Selhub also reported that patients with high levels of homocysteine also have levels of folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin B6 are low in their bodies.
If the first thought that the cause of heart disease and stroke are cholesterol, studies in the 21st century has shown that homocysteine is nowhere. However, we must not upset by the problem can be solved by adopting the source of antioxidants, folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin B6 inadequacy.

Asthma and The Triggers

In this world, millions of people are affected by asthma and it may cause thousands of deaths every year in the United States. Actually, asthma is one of the common childhood diseases but it also strikes adults too. This disease may affect the lungs which can cause repeated of coughing and chest tightness. So it’s important to understand all about this disease especially for prevention and management.
An asthma attack happened when the airways in our lungs shrink due to inflammation. This inflammation is usually happen due to a reaction to some sort of trigger. Because the airways in our lungs have get smaller, so, less air can get in and out of the lungs. When this happened, the body also produces mucus which that further clogs the airways.
Asthma triggers are environmental agents that cause an asthma attack. These vary from person to person. It is important to avoid these triggers to keep airways open and avoid an attack. An Introduction to Yoga Philosophy

When most people hear the word yoga, an image of a girl sitting with her feet on her things and hands resting on her knees often forms in their minds. They may also imagine that she is meditating. But this ancient discipline is more than just sitting in this lotus position. It is an approach to life that combines the value of both physical and philosophical well being. The word itself comes from ancient Sanskrit writings and in English translates to "royal union." This royal union is that of the mind and body.

The Sanskrit text that offers the foundation is the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. There are four books to this text that were written over 2000 years ago. The four books are the Kaivalya Pada, Vibhuti Pada, Samadhi Pada, and the Sadhana Pada. The Sadhana Pada is where the physical aspects of yoga are found.

Within this book you will discover the "eight limbs" which are steps called the Ashtanga Yoga. The first five of these limbs concern aids from the external while the final three limbs deal with issues of the internal. The third of these limbs is all about discipline of the body. It preaches that the human body should be free of disease and that vital energy must be preserved. Western versions of this ancient discipline have derived from the teachings in this book of the Sutras.

The word asana is the plural form of asan, which means posture or position of the body. The purpose is improved flexibility and meditation. With asana, positions should always be steady and firm, yet comfortable at all times.

Therefore, any pain experienced while assuming poses means that you are not achieving your goal. Poses are plentiful for beginners as well as advanced practitioners.

Whatever your level of expertise is, there are some fundamentals to always keep to. Exercises should be performed on an empty stomach. Breathing must not be erratic but rather controlled and easy. Positions should be such that your body does not tremble from too much strain or pressure. Mats should be used most often instead of doing exercises on the floor. When you complete a session, you should allot time to finding a state of deep relaxation.

Some poses are done standing up. Others are performed lying down, sitting, balancing or with a bent back. Beginning positions that are done sitting include the Seated Wide Legged Straddle, Half Lord of the Fishes and the Cobbler's Pose. Some of the standing positions for those just starting are The Pyramid, The Standing Forward Bend and The Downward Facing Dog.

As we discussed, yoga is so much more than simply arranging your body into a certain pose. It is a complete philosophy that stresses the importance of spiritual well being as well as the tangible needs of a human body. The first limb, in fact, teaches the fundamental virtues of truth in word and thought, nonviolence and monogamy for those who are married and celibacy for those who are not.

Exercise Tips For Teen Girls

It has been observed that many girls, when they hit their teens, stop taking exercise. This reduced physical activity not only leads to laziness, it makes them put on weight because they have become inactive. That is why teen girls especially need to exercise regularly once they reach adolescence, otherwise they might become obese adults – which leads to many health problems.
You can explain to your teenage daughter that there are many rewards to exercising regularly – she will have a positive body image, increased flexibility and stamina, increased strength, higher self-esteem, improved social skills, and decreased levels of stress and depression. Talk to your teenage daughter, explain to her that she needs to exercise and she shouldn’t avoid it. It would be a good idea to exercise with her, that way she has a role model.

Show your teen girl how different sports are played, explain the terms of each. Understanding plays a key role in encouraging her to go ahead and try them. Discourage her from thinking that exercise and sports are boring – show her that they can be fun. Incorporate exercise into your routine – go for a morning jog every day, go swimming on weekends. Head to the beach on holidays and play some volleyball. Even Frisbee throwing is a great sport. Even making her enroll in a physical activity class could do wonders.
An important thing to remember is that you can always ask your teen daughter’s teachers and counselors for help on physical activities in the locality. Find local exercise classes, and try out various different things like dance, etc. The idea is to be physically active and take exercise. Don’t forget to praise her – positive feedback is essential, this will encourage your daughter to exercise more
